Abstract

Listening comprehension is very important in English language learning because students understand the content of spoken language by listening. The relationship between listening and language learning is that language learning
depends on listening. Listening provide the aural input that serves as the basis for language acquisition and enables learners to interact in spoken language. The purpose of this research aims to find out how the use of Animated Stories can improve students' listening comprehension. This research was carried out using the Classroom Action Research method which included 2 cycles. The research lasted for one month with a duration of four meetings, where each cycle lasted two meetings.
The findings of this research are that the use of Animated Stories media can improve students' listening comprehension, this is shown by the average and class scores obtained in a situation that clearly shows improvements are taking
place. In cycle I the average value was 51 compared to the increase that occurred in cycle II, where the average value was 71.66. Improvement of the classroom situation can be seen in the behavior of students who are more active during learning.
