Abstract

This research is descriptive qualitative research. This research used direct communication and indirect communication as the technique of data collection. The tools of data collection were observation, questionnaire, and tryout instrument. Then, the data analysis in this research was qualitative analysis. This research aimed to find out the what kind of strategies used by EFL teachers in teaching speaking skill in applying strategies during teaching speaking at SMA Karya Sekadau in the Academic Year of 2022/2023. The subject of this research is EFL teachers at SMA Karya Seadau. The data was obtained show that the EFL teachers at SMA Karya Sekadau, the two teachers almost have same strategies in teaching speaking skill to teach the
students. Researcher found that each strategic aspect used by each EFL teacher such as disscussion, role-play, and describing object and games.
