Abstract

This research entitled “Improving Students’ Writing Ability on Recount Text by using
Transition-Action-Details (TAD) to the Eight Grade Students of MTS. Muhammad Basiuni
Imran Sambas in Academic Years 2014/2015” was conducted to know how Transition-Action-
Details (TAD) strategy can improve students’ writing on recount text..
This research was done by using Classroom Action Research method to solve the problems
faced by the students. This classroom action research was conducted to the Eight Grade Students
of MTS. Muhammad Basiuni Imran Sambas in the Academic Year of 2014/2015.
The researcher used purposive sampling as the sampling technique by choosing VIIIB as
research sample that consist of 32 students. Techniques of collecting the data used observation
and measurement test. The data collection tools of this research were observation checklist, field
note, photo recording and writing test. To analyze the data, the researcher used qualitative and
quantitative technique.
