Abstract

This research explore students' perceptions of contextual language learning at IKIP PGRI Pontianak, emphasizing its significance in acquiring language skills through meaningful real-world contexts. Using qualitative descriptive analysis, with interview data collection techniques and questionnaire techniques. Data collection tools used in this research include interview techniques and questionnaires. Researchers used student opinions consisting of seven assessment aspects to analyze student desires. The subjects of this research were class A afternoon students in the 3rd semester of the English Study Program at IKIP PGRI Pontianak. The results of this research investigate variables such as perception and contextual language learning, offering theoretical insights for educators and practical Benefits for overcoming learning challenges. Understanding the diverse nature of perception
is critical to effectively refining teaching strategies. Using a case study approach, this research explores student experiences facilitated by direct and indirect data collection methods. Findings highlight the impact of the classroom environment, student satisfaction with teaching aids, and positive responses to teaching strategies. Ultimately, this research contributes to improving language education practice by enriching our understanding of
contextual language learning challenges and opportunities, as well as guiding educational strategies to improve outcomes.
