Abstract

This qualitative research was conducted to determine the implementation of the use of local song translations in learning English in English Village, Nyayum Village. The subjects of this study were 19 students who took part in a local song material meeting, in the English Village of Nyayum Village. Samples were selected using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used in this study were field notes and documentation. Field notes as a data collection tool are considered important so that the standard criteria for reporting qualitative research encourage researchers to include field notes in a collection of statements in the form of manuscripts. Documentation is a way to collect data and information such as worksheets, pictures, audio, video, and information that supports research.
The results of data analysis show that the function of local song translation in the English learning process is very good and effective in helping the process of English learning activities. Local songs can improve students English skills, especially in pronunciation and enrich students vocabulary, with worksheets for teachers in the English learning process being one of the complements to teacher learning to students in addition to textbooks, student learning outcomes after students work on worksheets in the teaching and learning process are very good and
help in students learning English.
