Abstract

This study aims to know and find various of the translation process used by students in translating text from English to Indonesian Language to the Fourth Semester Students of English Study Program of IKIP PGRI Pontianak in the Academic Year of 2021/2022. This study focused on 15 (fifteen) students. The method that was used in conducting this research was a qualitative descriptive method. To know and find kinds the translation process of students, the researcher employed a tool an interviews and test, the test is a translating text . To analyze the result of the test and students interviews, the research used Miles and Huberman method. The results of the translation process found that almost the average student was less accurately, the less acceptability and medium readability in the process of translation and found that there were 6 (six) students who followed the stages sequentially namely analysis, transfer, and restructuring, and then that there were 9 (nine) students who do not followed the stages sequentially, namely transfer, analysis and restructuring.
