Abstract

This study uses Research and Development with the ADDIE model, which consists of 5 main stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this research are the students of English Village in Lubuk Tajau Village for the 2021/2022 academic year. Data collection techniques used are observation and field notes. The data collection tool used in this research is a filed notes. The validation sheet is used to obtain
the wetness of the data, while the filed notes is used to get the practicality data of the Genre-based learning material. The results of the study based on the collected
data indicate that the level of validation of learning materials from the material and graphic aspects is with an average value of 79.64% including the Very Practical criteria. While the practicality of genre-based learning materials for English village students in Lubuk Tajau Village is with an average value of 81.76% which is included in the practicality criteria. This means that the use of
contextual-based learning materials is valid and practical to use.
