Abstract

To make English Village a success in Lubuk Tajau village, the researcher at English Village used media in the form of local song which were translated into English. With the aim achieved is to increase students' knowledge of English.
Research with the title: "Using Translated Local Song To Teach Students of English Village of Lubuk Tajau", has a problem formulation how translated local song could be used to teach students of English Village of Lubuk Tajau and how
is situation classroom after using translated local song to teach at English Village of Lubuk Tajau. The purposes of this research is this study aims to know how translated local song is used to teach students of English Village of Lubuk Tajau and this study aims to find out how is situation classroom after using translated local song to teach at English Village of Lubuk Tajau.
This research uses a case study with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used in this study were participant observation and student text documents. Field notes and worksheets as a tools for collecting data, this is
considered important so that the standard criteria for reporting qualitative research encourage researchers to include a statement of collection of field notes in the text
of information that supports research. Based on the data analysis conducted, The use of local song translations in
teaching English is very good and helps in the process of learning English. Field notes and student documents show that the translation of the local song is a good medium in learning English, especially in developing vocabulary achievement for primary students. The student’s test discussed there are 3 student tests, namely Desi (high achievers), Sesilia (medium achievers), and Zio (low achievers). The situation in the classroom is quite conducive, during the teaching and learning process in the classroom students pay attention and listen to what is conveyed by the tutor.
