Abstract

This qualitative research was conducted to determine the implementation using translated traditional songs in English language learning in Sungai Deras English Village. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, where 6 students were chosen as subjects of the study from Sungai Deras English Village.
The technique of data collection used in this study was indirect communication and documentation, in which the data collection tools are field notes, worksheets, questionnaires, and documentation. Field notes and questionnaires are considered important in data collection because they are standard criteria for reporting qualitative research where there are field notes in the manuscript and data taken from trusted sources using several question guides. Documentation is a way to collect data and information such as documents, images, audio, video, and information that supports research.
The results of data analysis indicate that in the process of learning English where the student's text serves as a complement in learning for teachers to students. Learning activities using translated traditional songs helped the learning process and have a good impact on learning and teaching.
