Abstract

This study aims to develop complementary materials for students at SD Nyayum, and to describe the design and quality of materials used in English for the English village program for students at SD Nyayum. This research methodology uses Research and Development with the ADDIE model, which
consists of 5 main stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. It was found that in primary schools there were no English learning
materials.
The results of the needs analysis show that the subject requires the design of teaching materials that are in accordance with the characteristics of students.
Data were analyzed quantitatively using percentages, and data obtained from evaluation materials and media were analyzed using descriptive statistics. There are 31 elementary school students who take part in the English Village program consisting of grades IV to VI and sampling using purposive sampling technique with 18 students in grades IV, V, and VI, selected 3 student texts for analysis.
The collection technique in this study used participant observation and documents. Observations including instruments used include worksheets, student response questionnaire sheets and expert validation sheets, field notes, including audio recordings. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it is known that the results of the validation of learning materials and media from experts are obtained with an average percentage of 83% with very valid criteria and the average percentage obtained from the results of student response questionnaires of 94.50% with very practical criteria, it can be concluded that concluded that the use of teaching materials in the form of worksheets can help students to develop basic English skills so that they can be applied in their social
context.
