Abstract

This study aim to find out how is implementation of a local song in teaching English to the students of English Village of Parit Baru and How is the class atmosphere after using the song's local translation to teach the English village of Parit Baru. Data collection tools used field notes and Students’ text. The population in this study was 30 students. The study took a sample of 3 students from grade fourth elementary school. The sampling technique used is
purposeful sampling. The researcher used an approach with a case study method. In this study, researchers used field notes to write activities carried out during the learning process. Participant observation is a data collection technique used in this study by involving collaborators. Field notes and student texts are the data collection tools used in this study. The data analysis method used is thematic analysis. Based on the findings in this study shows that the use of local song translation as a learning media can make students appear confident to practice student texts well even though they still need tutor guidance and can make the learning atmosphere more fun and not dull to improve speaking and Vocabulary for students.
