a lot of tutor guidance to read the texts. Furthermore, at the second meeting after using translated local legend as learning media, the learning atmosphere becomes more fun and relaxed and students' speaking practice of reading the genre based approach texts were better than in the first meeting after using local legend in the process of learning English. The English village program actually helps students learn to understand and remember English lessons, one of which is learning English using a translated local legend.
